The Chinese Association of Human Resource Development recently recognized Nantong in Jiangsu province as a national talent-friendly city.
The city has also made the list of the top 50 attractive Chinese cities for talents in 2024.
As early as 2016, Nantong authorities have targeted the construction of a youth- and talent-friendly city. In 2022, Nantong was listed as the pilot city focusing on youth development in the nation.
In recent years, Nantong has implemented a series of strategic measures and policies to create an environment conducive to attracting and retaining young, talented individuals. The city annually generates 100,000 employment opportunities tailored to university graduates and the mayor delivers keynote speeches each year to urge university graduates to stay and find jobs in the city.
Nantong has also smoothed the communication channel between young talents and employers by launching online recruitment platforms and establishing a comprehensive subsidy system for talents from junior college students to post-doctoral researchers.
In the future, Nantong is set to further create a favorable environment for young people who intend to start a business and live in the city to attract more young talents.
