Tai'an in East China's Shandong province saw a surge in visitors during the National Day holiday.
Local statistics show a total of 22 tourist attractions, including A-level tourist attractions, brought 2.09 million visitors to Tai'an from Oct 1 to 7, which is nearly 12 percent more than last year. The total operating income reached 92.57 million yuan ($13.11 million), with ticket revenue reaching 50.76 million yuan.
Among them, Mount Tai Scenic Area received over 400,000 visitors, putting its total for the year at 7 million. The bustling tourism in various scenic spots has driven the overall development of the city's cultural and tourism market. From the evening of Sept 30 to Oct 6, a total of 12 sampled tourist accommodation units in the city received 17,200 visitors, generating operating income of 7.25 million yuan.
During the holiday period, all scenic spots and cultural venues across the city used their resources to launch unique activities to meet the diverse needs of people in the city.
