Shaping tomorrow's open economy at 7th HQF

The 7th Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF), an important part of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in the Hongqiao International Central Business District from Nov 5 to 10, with the tagline "High-Standard Opening up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization".

Gathering globally renowned leaders from the political, business and academic sectors, as well as from international organizations, the forum is meant to gather insights into the building of an open world economy.

Among its various highlights, the forum will address hot topics such as climate change, the Global South, the 30th anniversary of the WTO, artificial intelligence, and new energy vehicles. It will cover important topics like the development of new quality productive forces, high-level openness, new industrialization and emerging economies.

It will also gather representatives from governments and international organizations, business leaders, and scholars from both home and abroad to engage in in-depth dialogues. Among the attendees are Nobel laureates in Economics such as Christopher A. Pissarides and Eric Maskin, Turing Award winner Joseph Sifakis, Deputy Secretary-General of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Pedro Manuel Moreno, and business executives from CIIE exhibitors like AstraZeneca, 3M, Danone, L'Oréal, HSBC and BHP.

The flagship report "World Openness Report 2024" and the latest World Openness Index will be unveiled during the forum as well, and several government agencies and international organizations are expected to release reports, initiatives, roadmaps, and other achievements for the first time.
