In recent years, Sinopharm First Machinery Hospital in Baotou city has focused on optimizing the healthcare environment to improve inpatient conditions, service quality, and patient satisfaction, ultimately enhancing the overall patient experience.
To create a warm and comfortable atmosphere, the hospital has repainted each floor of its inpatient building and standardized internal signage for better guidance.

In addition to repainting, the hospital modernized its facilities by installing private restrooms in each patient room, replacing the previously shared hallway bathrooms. This upgrade enhances convenience and protects patient privacy, addressing long-standing issues faced by the 66-year-old hospital.
The improved environment has positively impacted patients' experiences. Mr Qu, whose father frequently receives treatment at the hospital's Gastroenterology Department, noted the convenience of the upgrades, stating that it is now easier and less tiring to accompany his father during his stay.
Details are key to delivering quality care. Zhang Suqing, head nurse of the Gastroenterology Department, explained that wheelchairs are readily available for patients, and candy is stocked at nurse stations for diabetic patients experiencing low blood sugar. Healthcare training sessions are also held regularly to increase patients' understanding of their conditions and improve their quality of life.
The hospital has introduced self-service machines in various locations to streamline administrative processes, including in the outpatient building, inpatient building, and dental clinic. These machines enable patients to manage admission, registration, payments, and surveys quickly, reducing wait times and enhancing efficiency.
