On Oct 7, Trip Group released the "2024 National Day Tourism Consumption Report", revealing a 59-percent year-on-year increase in National Day holiday ticket orders for scenic spots in North China's Shanxi province.
Datong made the "Top 10 Destinations with the Fastest Order Growth", while Xixian in Linfen, Ruicheng in Yuncheng, and Yingxian in Shuozhou were listed among the "Top 10 Counties with the Fastest Daily Order Growth". Data indicated that the popularity of Shanxi's ancient architectural tours soared due to the game Black Myth: Wukong.
During the National Day holiday, the province saw a 71-percent increase in its international inbound tourism, with Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, South Korea, Italy, Russia, Singapore, and France in the top 10 countries.
Regarding the domestic tourism market, tourists visiting Shanxi during the National Day holiday were mainly from Beijing, Xi'an, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Shijiazhuang. Popular destinations for Shanxi residents included Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Tianjin, and Shanghai.
Compared to other holidays like May Day and Dragon Boat Festival, the National Day holiday has driven continuous growth in tourism consumption. During the first weekend after the holiday, travel orders increased by 10 percent compared to September, with travel orders in some areas remaining the same as during the National Day holiday period.
