The fourth China New E-Commerce Conference, or CNECC, took place on Sept 26-27 in Changchun – capital of Northeast China's Jilin province – focusing on the theme of "Building New E-Commerce, Sharing New Development".
The event aimed to explore industry trends and innovative technologies, promoting the integration of new e-commerce with cultural tourism.
Jilin, known for its high-quality ginseng, is placed to benefit significantly from these discussions.
In recent years, Jilin's online retail sales have soared, surpassing 100 billion yuan ($14.26 billion) for the first time in 2023 – marking a 24-percent year-on-year increase.
The province's ginseng products, along with other premium goods, are finding new markets both domestically and internationally.
The conference is said to have provided a platform for launching initiatives like the New E-Commerce Empowerment Action Plan, which included substantial support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
With Jilin's commitment to fostering a healthy e-commerce ecosystem, the conference also emphasized industry self-regulation.
By facilitating discussions on innovative ginseng marketing strategies and cross-border e-commerce, Jilin aims to strengthen its position in the global market and enhance the sustainability of its renowned ginseng industry.
The synergy between the e-commerce and traditional industries is expected to drive high-quality growth and broaden the province's economic horizons.
