Eastern Airlines' flight MU5013, with 208 passengers on board, departed from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, bound for Milan Malpensa International Airport in Italy, on Sept 26, marking the opening of the first direct flight from Northwest China to Milan.
The Xi'an to Milan route operates round-trip flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The outbound flight departs at 2:40 pm Beijing time and is expected to arrive at Malpensa Airport at 7:30 pm local time. The return flight departs at 9:30 pm local time and arrives at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 2 pm Beijing time.
The route is serviced by an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, offering passengers seamless internet connectivity at 30,000 feet with onboard Wi-Fi.
With the successful launch of the Xi'an-Milan route and the opening and resumption of multiple international routes, such as Xi'an-Moscow, Xi'an-Budapest, Xi'an-Hanoi, and Xi'an-Jinan-Sydney from last year to this year, Eastern Airlines now operates routes from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport to 83 destinations, including 12 international and 71 domestic locales.
