The century-old iron and steel group has played a crucial role in supporting numerous national key projects since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It has significantly contributed to various sectors, including agriculture, mining, transportation, machinery manufacturing, energy development and military and urban construction.
Statistics show that the group produced more than 70,000 tons of steel rails and accessories for the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway — the first railway built after the founding of the PRC. The railway was wholly designed and built by China, utilizing domestically produced materials.
