According to Gong Renchun, director of the engineering technology research center, the company's successful pivot towards new energy vehicles has been crucial. "Our product range has changed from transmission gears to components for electric vehicles, aligning our growth with the shift from traditional fuel cars to new energy vehicles," he explained.
In recent years, Jiangsu Airship has focused on enhancing its independent innovation capabilities by acquiring advanced production and testing equipment. The company now boasts an annual production capacity of 30 million automotive transmission gears, along with 1.25 million aluminum alloy forming components.
Its products are widely used across various vehicles, including passenger cars, engineering machinery, and agricultural equipment, allowing the company to capture a stable customer base while expanding into international markets in Europe, the United States, and Japan.
Jiangsu Airship invests nearly 5 percent of its business revenue annually into research and development, leading to over 60 new products and technologies. The company's total R&D investment is projected to reach 600 million yuan ($85.47 million) from 2021-25. With these ongoing investments, the company anticipates its domestic market share for transmission gears to exceed 15 percent this year.
