By connecting the "four cities", namely Guizhou Science City, Guiyang Big Data Sci-tech Innovation City, Huaxi University Town and Qingzhen Vocational Education City, Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province is constructing a vibrant ecosystem for technological innovation and attracting a large number of tech companies and projects.
In Gui'an, a close collaborative relationship has been formed among research institutions, universities and enterprises, accelerating the commercialization and application of technological achievements.
Meanwhile, Gui'an is focusing on the attraction and cultivation of talents in the "four cities" interconnection, accelerating the construction of regional talent clusters and shaping new driving forces and advantages for development.
Today, relying on cutting-edge technologies such as big data and cloud computing, Gui'an is developing emerging industries such as digital economy and intelligent manufacturing, promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
Huaxi University Town has gathered 12 universities including Guizhou University, Guizhou Normal University, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, and Guizhou Institute of Technology.
Covering disciplines in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, management and education, and with 272,000 students and teachers, it is the largest university cluster and has the highest concentration of young scientific and technological innovation talents in the province.
The collaboration between universities, research institutions and enterprises has addressed the difficulties in the commercialization of technological achievements in the "four cities", promoting precise matching of technological achievements with demands, and assisting Gui'an in building Guizhou's science and technology innovation center.
In Gui'an, a number of science and innovation platforms have been set up, including the Huawei Digital Economy Innovation Center, the State Key Laboratory of Public Big Data co-built by Guizhou and national ministries, Tsinghua University's Wujiang Laboratory, the Gui'an Branch of the National Engineering Center for Big Data, and the Guizhou Big Data Research Institute of East China Normal University.
As of now, Gui'an has a total of 108 innovation platforms. Focusing on the intelligent computing center, industry large models and cloud services, Gui'an is accelerating independent innovation and fostering new quality productive forces.
