China's real-name registered drones around 1.88m by June

The number of enterprises and practitioners in the drone industry in China, as well as the drone flight volumes registered a significant growth presently, reported CCTV News on Tuesday.

As of June 2024, China's real-name registered drones reached around 1.88 million, the total number of drone enterprises with valid operational certificates for civil unmanned aerial vehicles over 14,000, and the number of individuals holding drone operator licenses has surpassed 225,000, according to data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The accumulated flight hours for civilian drones totaled 9.82 million nationwide in the first half of this year, 134,000 hours increase over the same period last year, according to the administration.

Some 1.27 million units of drones were real-name registered in China by the end of 2023, up 32.2 percent year-on-year. The cumulative flight hours of drones reached 23.11 million hours in 2023, up 11.8 percent compared with the same period of the previous year.
