North American expat enjoys atmosphere of ancient trading port

When visiting the ancient trading port of Chikan Old Street in Leizhou, South China’s Guangdong province, Douglas Dueno, a North American expat from China Daily, remarked that wandering through the alleys allowed him to experience the unique and distinctive characteristics of Chinese culture. Wearing the traditional outfit made him feel even more immersed in the atmosphere, and he felt as if he had truly become a part of history – an entirely new experience.
