During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sept 15 to 17, Alshaa League in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region showcased its unique cultural and tourism attractions, boosting local tourism through innovative, tourist-friendly events.
Despite weather conditions, most visitors came from nearby regions, including Ningxia, Shaanxi, and Gansu. Self-driving tours and family trips were the most popular activities.
Over the three-day holiday, Alshaa hosted 321,800 domestic visitors, a 12.32 percent increase compared to 2023. Visitor spending reached 218 million yuan ($30.84 million), marking a 20.71 percent growth. No major incidents or complaints were reported, and the tourism market remained safe and orderly.
Alshaa's tourism sector was well-prepared for the holiday. Pre-festival meetings ensured safety and stability, while cultural and tourism authorities conducted thorough inspections. Tourism businesses also implemented safety checks and emergency drills to guarantee high-quality services.
Public safety was a priority, with widespread weather updates displayed across public areas. A 24-hour on-call system ensured rapid incident response, allowing for a smooth, safe, and enjoyable holiday for all tourists.
