Hubei Meritar Supply Chain Co commenced construction on its new headquarters and production base on Sept 18 in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
The state-of-the-art facility will span 19,271 square meters and feature a "lights-out factory", office spaces, apartments, and other supporting buildings. It is slated for completion by March 2026.
Founded in 2012 in WEDZ, Meritar is a specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise offering digital supply chain management and intelligent logistics services. It has established 20 branches across China, covering major automobile production hubs, and has set up subsidiaries overseas.
Deng Xiaohuai, vice-general manager of Meritar, highlighted that the company provides logistics solutions to multinational automotive parts manufacturers such as Hitachi Astemo, Magna, and Honeywell, as well as major automakers including Geely, Ford, and Volvo.
Deng elaborated on Meritar's collaboration with Wuhan University and Wuhan University of Technology to develop an advanced scheduling system for intelligent robot clusters. This innovative system will enable logistics robots to communicate task instructions to each other, achieving full interoperability.
It will also monitor the robots' working status in real time, assign tasks accordingly, and precisely navigate the robots within the factory to avoid obstacles and prevent collisions.
