Cui Yonghui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, met Fiji's Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka on Aug 14.
Cui officially welcomed Prime Minister Rabuka and his entourage to the port city of Xiamen, located in Southeast China's Fujian province.
He called on both sides to use the visit as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of commerce and trade, marine affairs, culture and tourism, and make contributions to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Fiji.
During their stay in Xiamen, Prime Minister Rabuka and his entourage made stops at several locations, including Wuyuan Bay, Island Ring Boulevard as well as Xiamen Port.
They observed the city's advances in reform and opening up, its marine ecological restoration and port development.
After experiencing the formidable achievements of Xiamen's economic and social development and learning about its advanced practices in various fields on-site, the national leader expressed the willingness to further exchanges between Fiji and Xiamen.
He said there was a future of win-win engagement that would benefit the people of both places.
