The 16th Laizhou International Stone Material Fair kicked off at the Laizhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in Laizhou, a county-level city in East China's Shandong province, on Sept 9.
The three-day event welcomed more than 5,300 participants, including stone industry enterprises, related associations, and professionals.
With the tagline "Laizhou Stone: Shaping the Future Together", the fair offered visitors an opportunity to explore the development of the stone industry through seven themed areas, featuring stone decorations, machinery tools, Laizhou jade carvings, artistic designs, and raw stone materials.
During the fair, a series of activities were also held, including a forum on green, low-carbon development and the utilization of solid waste resources in the stone industry, a green mine construction experience exchange meeting, the inaugural ceremony for the "Stone Capital Award", and a photography exhibition themed on "Memories of the Stone Fair".
These activities aim to explore pathways and strategies for the green transformation of the stone industry, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of Laizhou's stone industry.
Laizhou, known as the "Capital of Stone", boasts nearly 6 billion cubic meters of stone reserves and produces over 200,000 pieces of carved and shaped stone annually.
In recent years, Laizhou has focused more on the high-quality development of the stone material industry and has formulated a three-year development plan to expand the field from stone mining and processing to product design, raw material trading, green building materials, high-end exhibitions, and the research and development of new materials.
