Xi'an advances modern industrial system development

Since the beginning of the year, Xi'an has achieved breakthroughs in optimizing and upgrading its modern industrial system, fostering new quality productive forces.

From January to June, the city's six major industries generated 342.8 billion yuan ($48.19 billion), accounting for 81.2 percent of industries above a designated size.

Xi'an has been designated a national pilot city for manufacturing technology innovation and digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The city has introduced detailed guidelines for the "chain-leading service system", identifying 49 municipal-level "chain-leading" enterprises.

Under Shaanxi Automobile Group Co as a "chain leader", innovative and industrial chains have been strategically deployed. Over 400 major component and parts suppliers are now integrated into its industrial chain downstream.

Xi'an has also emphasized integrating innovation and transformation. So far this year, the city has established five provincial-level manufacturing innovation centers, 16 service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises, 106 digital transformation pilot enterprises, and 55 enterprises that implement integrated management systems.

Additionally, 813 provincial new key product development projects have been implemented, and 397 new industrial products and technologies have been introduced.

Efforts continue to cultivate high-quality SMEs. In the first half of the year, Xi'an added 41 provincial-level champion manufacturing enterprises, two listed companies, 63 provincial-level green factories, and 316 industrial enterprises above a designated size.

Xi'an has also ensured project construction, accelerating the progress of 134 municipal key industrial investment projects. The city's technological industry renovation investment grew by 20.7 percent in the first half of the year, with the 134 key projects receiving total investments of 23.67 billion yuan.
