The 13th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverage Expo is underway in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 9-12.
The expo has facilitated communication between global alcoholic beverage enterprises and professionals, serving as an important platform to showcase the development achievements of Guizhou's baijiu industry.
Data shows that the previous 12 expo editions attracted 20,300 exhibitors from home and abroad, with nearly 300,000 buyers in attendance. This resulted in a total liquor trade volume of 529.12 billion yuan ($74.39 billion).
In recent years, Guizhou has prioritized the construction of a major baijiu production base as one of the province's six major industry bases, aiming to accelerate the development of a modern industrial system.
On Sept 3, the 2024 Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) opened in Guizhou's Renhuai city. At this event, over 2,800 samples were blind-tasted, again showcasing the Renhuai baijiu production area on the world stage.
To promote Guizhou's high-quality baijiu in the international market, Guizhou held baijiu tasting and promotion conferences in Singapore, Japan, and South Korea from May 13 to 22 this year, accelerating the production and sales growth of Guizhou baijiu.
By 2027, the output value of Guizhou's Maotai-flavor baijiu industry is expected to reach 300 billion yuan.
