The Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) Administrative Committee recently hosted a promotional conference in Munich, Germany, inviting global businesses to learn about and invest in the area.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Sino-German comprehensive strategic partnership, and in that time, the Hongqiao International CBD has continuously attracted well-known German companies in various fields. And its economic and trade exchanges with Germany are only strengthening.
Guo Fang, commercial counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Munich, said at the meeting that boasting an advantageous location, a complete transport network, a mature business environment and preferential policy support, the Hongqiao CBD is an ideal place for foreign companies to expand into the Chinese market and achieve rapid development.
In recent years, renowned German enterprises such as Rheinmetall Group, Hoffmann Group, EDAG Group, and Manz have chosen to set up operations there, injecting impetus into the region's economic development, Guo added.
Zhong Xiaoyong, executive deputy director of the Hongqiao CBD Administrative Committee, gave a presentation at the meeting, stating that Hongqiao is an important area for Shanghai in opening to both the domestic and overseas markets. Multiple national strategies, including the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region integration, the China International Import Expo, and the Hongqiao International Opening-up Hub, that the Hongqiao CBD is involved in have endowed the area with a number of special functions, making it a bridge between China and Germany.
At the conference, the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center (Germany) was officially unveiled, marking the expansion of Hongqiao's overseas service network in supporting the "going global" of enterprises in the YRD.
