In a recent interview with China Perspectives, Ye Hailin, dean of China-Africa Institute at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that China, for 15 consecutive years, has been Africa's largest trading partner. China's direct investment in Africa is growing rapidly. The role played by China's infrastructure projects in Africa in serving local economic development is also widely recognized. Going forward, the trade structure between China and Africa still requires further diversification. There is particularly significant potential in new forms of business cooperation, such as e-commerce and green development.
