After eight years of traveling across China and visiting over 50 grassroots villages, a young man from Cameroon has gained new insights into poverty alleviation in the fields of China. Reflecting on his experience as a village official in North China's Shanxi province, Joseph Olivier Mendo'o, co-founder of the China-Africa Youth Federation and head of the African Youth Delegation in China, shared that he had always believed poverty alleviation required infrastructure development and large investments. To his surprise, he found that something as simple as paper-cutting could help lift villages out of poverty.
