On Sept 2, Lothar Mergili, chief operations officer of ams Osram Opto Semiconductors, visited Xinwu district, Wuxi, with his delegation to discuss the company's future in the region.

During the meeting, Zhang Jinwei, head of Xinwu, highlighted the long-standing partnership between the district and ams Osram. He acknowledged Osram's significant contributions to the district's economic development, employment, and urban construction. Zhang expressed hope for increased investment and deeper collaboration in the future, encouraging the introduction of more projects and products to Xinwu.

He assured that Wuxi is set to continue to promote high-level openness, optimize government services, and create a first-class international business environment, aiming for a mutually beneficial development landscape.

Mergili expressed gratitude for the support Xinwu has provided over the years. He noted that the Wuxi base is the largest and most successful production facility for ams Osram in China, and expanding its operations is a key strategic focus for the group. Mergili emphasized that the company plans to introduce advanced technologies and products, particularly in the fields of plant lighting, vehicle interior lighting, and high-end pixelated headlights, to further contribute to the economic development of Xinwu.

ams Osram is a global leader in optical solutions with three main business segments: sensing, illumination, and visualization. The company operates two legal entities in Xinwu, and the Wuxi base is its first LED packaging facility in China and ranks alongside its plants in Regensburg, Germany, and Penang, Malaysia, as one of the group's three major production bases.
