Currently, the construction of expressways in Guilin is in the prime dry season construction period. The highly anticipated Guanyang to Pingle Expressway project has made significant progress and has entered a crucial construction phase.
The Guanyang to Pingle Expressway is one of the longest construction periods among the many expressways in Guangxi. It has been under construction for six years since the end of 2017, starting near Pumenqian village in Xinwei town, Guanyang county, and connecting to the G65 Baotou to Maoming Expressway section from Yangshuo to Pingle.
From January to July this year, the project accumulated an investment of 286 million yuan (40.17 million), accounting for 72.9 percent of the annual investment plan set by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The project is scheduled to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2024.
Once completed, this project will reduce the travel time to Guilin by half an hour, ending the history of Gongcheng county not being directly connected to the expressway.
This development is crucial for promoting the development of tourism resources and facilitating high-quality economic and social development in Guilin.
