Harbin unveils plans for ice and snow industrial base

Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, is set to create a demonstration base for the ice and snow sports digital technology equipment industry.

Yu Liantao, director of the Heilongjiang office of the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, said the base will feature an ice and snow sports theme park, an equipment inspection and testing center, and an equipment manufacturing R&D center. The base will also feature a digital product display center, an international product trading center, and an industry financial center.

The ice and snow sports theme park will cover approximately 20,000 square meters and include cross-country tracks, amusement parks, and sports experience groups. It will serve as an entertainment and leisure facility and host competitive events.

The park's overall design plan was completed in June this year. Construction on the first phase will start in October. This phase is expected to be completed by June 2025, and the second phase is set to begin in September of that year.

The park has already attracted 27 local companies for the initial phase of investment and development.
