The 19th China Changchun Film Festival concluded on Sept 1 in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, with a grand closing ceremony and awards presentation.
The festival hosted six major events over five days, including the opening and closing ceremonies, film screenings, industry forums, and cultural exchange activities. Highlights included the inaugural China Film Producers Summit and the seventh China New Film Forces Forum, offering a platform for film professionals to collaborate and innovate.
The Golden Deer Awards, celebrating cinematic excellence, were unveiled at the ceremony. The Volunteers: To the War won Best Film, Successor received the Jury Prize, and Zhang Yimou earned Best Director for Article 20. Peng Yuchang and Li Gengxi took home Best Actor and Best Actress for their roles in Viva La Vida.
As the cradle of Chinese cinema, Changchun continues to pioneer cultural development, contributing to the nation's cinematic achievements and the global film industry.
