Fortrend opens new base in WND

Shanghai Fortrend Technology celebrated the opening of its new facility in Wuxi New District on Aug 20, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion.

The new base, representing an investment of 400 million yuan ($56.07 million), will focus on the development and production of advanced integrated circuit manufacturing systems, including intelligent vacuum transport systems and wafer handling robotic arms. The facility is expected to generate 600 million yuan in revenue annually upon reaching full production capacity.

Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of WND, said that the new base aligns perfectly with the industrial development goals of the district. He expressed optimism that the facility will inject new vitality into the high-quality growth of WND and urged both parties to deepen cooperation, enhance research in critical technologies, and expand the company's market presence.

Huang Li, general manager of Shanghai Fortrend Technology, praised the robust integrated circuit industry in WND and announced plans to accelerate investment in the district, bolster research and development efforts, and advance the manufacturing of integrated circuit equipment.

Shanghai Fortrend Technology holds over 100 patents and offers a range of products, including standard mechanical interfaces, robotic arms, wafer handling and storage equipment, and photolithography front-end automation equipment. Its standard mechanical interfaces lead the global market with a 70-percent share, while commanding 90 percent of the Chinese market.
