An "Eco Island" pilot zone is an area delineated within a relatively intact natural geographic unit along the Yangtze River, the Grand Canal, coastal wetlands, or hilly regions, based on the distribution of biodiversity.

With Qinhu Lake and Baolao Lake as key areas, the pilot zone covers the entire Qintong town and Yuxi town, with a total area of about 189.57 square kilometers.

Looking ahead, Jiangyan district will optimize the spatial planning for biodiversity conservation, improve the environment for animals and plants, protect biodiversity, and promote the sustainable development and utilization of biodiversity in the development of the pilot zone.

Recognized as a national wetland model, Qinhu Lake National Wetland Park has been actively reconstructing and restoring swamps and wetlands, combating water eutrophication, and conserving biodiversity. To date, it has restored about 588.6 hectares of wetlands.
