The Blue Book of Xi'an International Metropolis Development 2024 was released in the Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone on Aug 22.
The blue book is an annual report on the international development of cities created by the International Metropolis Development Research Group. Starting in 2017, the series of blue books has been released for seven consecutive years, garnering widespread attention and recognition from various sectors of society.
Over the past seven years, the blue book has used nine national central cities and 15 sub-provincial cities as benchmarks to construct the International Metropolis Development Index. It scientifically identifies Xi'an's development orientation, issues, and shortcomings and provides recommendations to help Xi'an's international metropolis construction achieve progress and stability.
This year's blue book theme is smart growth, which focuses on promoting sustainable urban development through incremental leaps in the era of existing urban development. The book is divided into five main chapters: an overview, general report, thematic reports, research reports, and special reports, comprising a total of 11 sections.
It provides Xi'an with a scientific reference and valuable insights towards becoming a higher-level national central city and an internationally renowned metropolis with historical and cultural significance.
