Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding successfully launched the sea trials of its newly built ultra-large dual-fuel container ship, the Seaboard Voyager, from Aug 9 to 10.

This vessel, equipped with the world's largest vertical LNG (liquefied natural gas) fuel tank, can carry up to 3,500 twenty-foot equivalent units, making it the largest container ship ever built in the Taizhou Medical High-Tech Zone.

With a full nine-hour escort provided by the Taizhou maritime safety administration, the Seaboard Voyager smoothly navigated the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River, heading towards its designated sea area for testing.

The vessel is the first of six ships of this class being built by Sanfu Shipbuilding for a German client. It was launched on March 4 of this year.

The vessel's design, developed by Germany's HB Hunte Engineering, emphasizes ecological sustainability. It features a dual-fuel main engine, with two diesel generators and one LNG generator, capable of meeting power demands under a variety of conditions.
