Wuxi New District's total service sector added value reached 48.88 billion yuan ($6.84 billion) in the first half of 2024, marking a 6.2 percent year-on-year increase.

The revenue generated by enterprises above the designated size in the service sector reached 32.52 billion yuan, growing a notable 15.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Particularly strong growth was observed in the information software and technology services industries, with revenues rising by 33.4 percent and 28.1 percent, respectively.

Investment in the service sector was 21.37 billion yuan, a 6.3 percent year-on-year growth rate, while real estate investment grew by 3.8 percent.

The district is currently focused on 26 municipal-level key modern service projects, with a planned annual investment of nearly 5 billion yuan. By the end of June, 3.3 billion yuan had already been invested, representing 67.6 percent of the annual target.

WND has been actively encouraging enterprises to explore the integration of modern services with advanced manufacturing. One such enterprise, JD-Link, has developed a new supply chain management platform designed for manufacturing companies. This platform features automated warehousing and intelligent customs management.

In the second half of the year, WND plans to focus on expanding its productive service industries, optimizing the sector's structure and enhancing quality and efficiency.
