On Aug 16, the "traditional Chinese medicine street" (East Street) debuted in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou district.
During the opening ceremony, renowned Chinese medical experts offered health services to residents, and visitors had the chance to experience TCM therapies such as acupuncture, massage and moxibustion on-site.
Apart from these traditional treatments, the most popular section of the street was the dining and tasting area. Among them, the "health-promoting ice cream" attracted a large crowd, with popular flavors including perilla plum, nine-story pagoda, Hanyuan Sichuan pepper, small yellow ginger, and traditional soy sauce.
The new Lingnan Eighteen Flavors Hall has caught much attention as well. The 18 flavors are the "top 10 Guangzhou medicines" and "Lingnan's new eight flavors", including dried aged citrus peel and longan meat. It aims to create a space integrating medicinal herb trading and Lingnan TCM culture and techniques popularization.
In April of this year, the Zhuhai government decided to establish the "traditional Chinese medicine street”. The construction plan includes three sub-projects: East Street, West Street, and the High-Tech Traditional Chinese Medicine E-commerce City.
