Hubei province is one of the richest regions in China for health tourism and is a cradle of Traditional Chinese Medicine culture. Qichun county, located in eastern Hubei, was the birthplace of many talented people, including the "medical sage" Li Shizhen (1518-93).
The province, especially the Shennongjia area, boasts exceptional natural beauty. Shennongjia has a tree coverage rate of 91.1 percent, containing the best-preserved virgin forests in central China. A total of 3,655 types of medicinal herbs have been identified in the area, leading to it being known as the "Kingdom of Medicinal Herbs".
Hubei is integrating TCM, acupuncture, Qigong therapy, TCM physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and dietary health with tourism. This fusion gradually forms new trends and may become a central aspect of wellness tourism in the province.
The "TCM Culture Tour" passes through Wuhan and Qichun. Attractions along the route include:
The Yekaitai Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Block in Wuhan
Jianmin Pharmaceutical Group
Li Shizhen’s Hometown in Qichun,
