The Chongqing Sichuan Opera Museum in Liangjiang New Area is a cultural gem dedicated to traditional Chinese opera.
The museum, which opened to the public in 2012, is the only specialized opera museum in Chongqing and features four main exhibition areas.
Its public service area includes a stagecraft workshop, makeup room, and costume room, offering visitors the opportunity to watch live demonstrations and participate in interactive experiences.
With a collection of over 5,100 items, more than 690 of which are on display, the museum showcases a wide range of artifacts including scripts, calligraphy, paintings, records, musical instruments, costumes, badges, masks, headgear, stage props, and personal items of artists.
These artifacts not only chronicle the history of Sichuan Opera but also reflect the artistic lives of the older generation of Sichuan Opera artists, bringing their art, lives, and emotions to life.
