Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport reported a 19.38 percent increase in cargo and mail throughput, totaling 57,941.96 metric tons from January to July.
The airport's international freight sector experienced robust growth. Their cargo throughput soared to 1,987.11 tons, an astonishing year-on-year increase of 1,078.73 percent. The airport's expanding network of global cargo routes, covering destinations like Kolkata, Delhi, Karachi, and Moscow, has played a crucial role in this growth. With 162 international cargo flights this year, transporting 1,820.40 tons of goods, the airport has become a key driver of international cargo expansion.
The airport's domestic sector also saw impressive results, with inbound cargo and mail reaching over 27,000 tons (up 18.76 percent) and outbound volumes exceeding 30,000 tons (up 19.91 percent). Strategic route optimization has significantly boosted cargo load factors, particularly on routes to Ezhou and Hangzhou. Seasonal peaks and special events have further solidified the airport's position as a significant hub for domestic air cargo.
