Guazhou Suoyang City is a massive ancient city that has stood for over 1,700 years. Located seven kilometers south of Nanba village in Anxi county, Jiuquan city, it has well-preserved city walls that cover an area of over 1 million square meters.
This complete example of a county-level city in China showcases the advanced military defenses and agricultural irrigation systems of ancient times. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site in July 2014 and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
