The 2024 South China Book Festival's Maoming sub-venue is scheduled to take place from Aug 16 to 20.

The main venue for the Maoming activities will be hosted at the Xinyi City Library, with sub-venues spread across district and county-level libraries, rural reading rooms, Xinhua Bookstores, and major private bookstores.

A cloud platform of the book festival will be established through websites and WeChat accounts. This platform will facilitate a series of online activities including exhibitions, book purchases, live streaming, interactive sessions, and public welfare initiatives.

Additionally, the event has planned a diverse range of onsite activities, igniting a passion for reading among the public. Notable authors, cultural figures, and scholars such as Zhang Tengyue and Sun Rui will be invited to conduct lectures, discussions, book readings, and signings at the festival.

Activities will also extend into rural areas, with people able to exchange old books for new books and donate old books during the festival. Well-preserved and valuable old books will be sent to rural areas' school libraries and reading rooms.

To encourage more people to engage in reading, the festival will introduce a series of discount activities for buying books.
