Liangjiang New Area outlined its plans for the high-quality development of the productive service industry at a news conference on Aug 14.
The area aims to lead industrial innovation through technological services by accelerating the aggregation of key players in technology consulting, result transformation, intellectual property protection, computing services, and the development of common key technologies.
It currently boasts over 500 R&D platforms, more than 5,800 tech companies, and nearly 1,000 high-tech enterprises.
Liangjiang will drive industrial upgrading through professional and industrial design, offering comprehensive services from design consulting and innovative R&D to result transformation. The Chongqing Design Park Innovation Base, set to open next year, will gather enterprises in industrial design, creative design, and engineering technology.
The area will also lead technological innovation through inspection, testing, and certification services. Having received approval to create a "National Public Service Platform Demonstration Zone for Inspection, Testing, and Certification", it houses 90 institutions serving key industries such as automobiles, life and health, new materials, and electronic information.
In the software and information services, Liangjiang will guide intelligent transformation by focusing on satellite internet, AI, and robotics. It is establishing the Satellite Internet Industry Innovation Center and the Embodied Robotics Innovation Center to promote industrial upgrading through technological innovation. The area has gathered 5,200 software companies employing 116,000 people.
Additionally, Liangjiang plans to develop an international pan-legal service demonstration zone to support the global expansion of Chongqing products and services. It will also leverage its advantages in industrial finance, low-carbon environmental protection, data elements, and modern logistics to improve systems and policies for the high-quality development of the productive service industry.
