Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – posted impressive employment growth in the first half of 2024, adding a combined 86,400 new urban jobs.
It's the result of the region focusing on five key areas to bolster employment – including expanding job opportunities, supporting key labor groups, implementing targeted policies, enhancing service support and promoting skills development.
This proactive approach paved the way for the provision of 223,500 business enterprise job positions and significant assistance to various demographic groups – including migrant workers, disadvantaged individuals and rural laborers.
Additionally, 20,000+ poverty alleviation laborers found employment, and over 10,000 people received vocational training.
These efforts are widely set to have set a solid foundation for sustained employment growth and economic stability in the region.
