The organizers of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) announced on Aug 8 that they are nearly finished recruiting exhibitors and that professional audience registration has been launched. Final preparations are underway, with a pre-exhibition supply and demand matchmaking event held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai on the same day marking a pivotal moment in the lead-up to the annual expo.

Wu Zhengping, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, said that this year's business exhibition will retain its six major exhibition areas, which include technical equipment, automobiles, food, medical care, consumer goods, and service trade, in addition to an innovation incubation zone. Emphasizing a commitment to exploring cutting-edge technology and fostering the development of new quality productive forces, Wu highlighted the expo's dedication to innovation and growth.

This year's technical equipment exhibition area will include a new material zone for the first time, set to showcase the latest advancements in the sector. Meanwhile, the automobile exhibition area will focus on sectors such as unmanned driving and the low-altitude economy, featuring groundbreaking products and innovations that are reshaping the future of transportation.

The recent pre-exhibition matchmaking event placed a spotlight on exhibitors and purchasers within the technical equipment and automobile exhibition areas. These industries, known for their advanced technology and rapid product iteration, have been consistent draws for both domestic and international participants in past editions of the CIIE.

Twenty-eight companies from the technical equipment exhibition area, including industry leaders like Keyence, Hexagon Metrology, Ingersoll Rand, and Mitsubishi Electric, showcased a diverse range of offerings spanning digital industrial automation, new materials, energy low-carbon and environmental protection technology, integrated circuits, metal processing, and aerospace.

In the automobile exhibition area, nine companies such as Ford, Tesla, and Yamaha presented their areas of focus, ranging from complete vehicles, two-wheeled vehicles and auto parts to lightweight materials, low-altitude economy solutions, and smart travel innovations.

To better strike a balance between supply and demand, select exhibitors from the technical equipment exhibition area demonstrated advanced technologies and equipment, including acoustic imaging quadruped robot inspection systems, optical fiber fusion splicers, and mixed signal oscilloscopes.

Moreover, exhibitors from the automobile exhibition area showcased cutting-edge products and technologies in the transportation sector, such as thermosetting hub inserts and eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) models for low-altitude flight.
