Following Pan Zhanle's world record-breaking performance in the men's 100m freestyle at the Paris Olympics, a surge in interest in swimming has swept through Hangzhou. Zhejiang's Huanglong Sports Center, particularly the Bao Yugang Swimming Pool, has seen a notable increase in inquiries from swimming enthusiasts.

Cheng Jianlong, a coach at the Huanglong Sports Center, mentioned that since Pan's achievement, many have expressed a keen interest in learning freestyle swimming. The center's swim training team has also seen its members, initially focused on breaststroke, branching out into freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly.

According to statistics from the Bao Yugang Swimming Pool, swim class registrations have increased by about 20 percent compared to the same period last year. In addition to regular training classes, the center is intensifying its focus on training top-tier talent and providing pathways for advanced swimmers.
