Li Lanxiang, mayor of Tai'an, met with a delegation led by Analisa Low, ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to China, in Tai'an on Aug 10, conducting in-depth discussions on how to enhance cooperation and exchange between the two sides.
Li gave a brief introduction of Tai'an city's economic and social development, while also saying that the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, a major country in the Caribbean with thriving energy, construction, tourism, and manufacturing industries, has strong potential for collaboration with Tai'an.
This visit is expected to further promote practical cooperation between the two regions in various fields, including education, culture, and trade, Li added.
Low said that Tai'an is a vibrant, modern, and open tourist city with a rich historical and cultural heritage.
As the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the series of exchange activities in Tai'an represents a significant opportunity to strengthen cooperation, Low said, expressing hope that both sides will build a deeper partnership and reap mutual benefits.
Low also signed a memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation with Tai'an on behalf of the embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in China and unveiled the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago steel pan culture exchange center when she attended a cultural exchange event, which was held at Taishan University on Aug 11.
