Tai'an City Central Hospital in Tai'an, Shandong province, has introduced Hairstetics, a cutting-edge non-absorbable polyamide hair implant device from Israel, which offers a new generation of hair implants that are natural, safe and minimally invasive, in its international medical care base in South China's Hainan province.
On Aug 1, the first group of eight female patients suffering from androgenic alopecia underwent the hair implant procedure by the expert team of Wu Juncheng, a doctor from the department of medical cosmetology of Tai'an City Central Hospital, at Hainan Boao LuYi Hospital, marking the first time this innovative medical device has been used in Asia.
Wu highlighted that the prevalence of androgenic alopecia in China stands at 21.3 percent, with a 6 percent prevalence rate among women, totaling 170 million individuals, meaning there is high demand for technology such as Hairstetics, Wu said.
The device, comprising pre-loaded non-absorbable polyamide sutures in disposable cartridges, offers a minimally invasive procedure under local anesthesia, immediate results, and personalized implantation to meet the individual needs of patients, providing a painless and effective solution for those in need of hair implants.
Hainan Boao LuYi Hospital, a non-profit tertiary comprehensive hospital established by the Shandong Provincial Medical Association in conjunction with Yinfeng Group, is a key project in the medical collaboration between Shandong and Hainan provinces.
Since its establishment at the end of 2023, the hospital has been collaborating with Tai'an City Central Hospital, registering nearly a hundred clinical experts and introducing 20 international patented medical devices across 12 disciplines.
