Wuxi to host Taihu Talent Development Conference

The 2024 Taihu Talent Development Conference is set to commence in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Aug 9 with the theme of New Era, New Talent, and New Ecology.

The event comprises an opening ceremony, 16 main activities, and 10 supporting activities, uniting innovation resources and high-caliber professionals from home and abroad.

Anticipated highlights of the event include the unveiling of the city's five initiatives to support young talents and leading teams, as well as the inauguration of four platforms in attracting professionals and investment.

Distinguished participants will include 36 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, 19 university leaders, and many other renowned experts and scholars.

More than 140 key enterprises in the city will be in attendance, extending over 2,000 offers with an annual pay reaching up to 1 million yuan ($139,400).

The conference will also feature over 100 other activities spanning startups, housing, transportation, and tourism, as well as a diverse range of cultural and sports activities to better serve local talents.

Since 2017, Wuxi has successfully organized six editions of the Taihu Talent-branded conferences, serving as a crucial gateway for talents to acquaint themselves with the city. Over the years, Wuxi has attracted 45 innovation platforms, engaged with 186 Nobel laureates and academicians, and facilitated the presentation of over 13,600 projects through the conferences.
