​Shanghai hosts policy briefing to boost Belt and Road cooperation

On Aug 6, the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation Shanghai Branch and the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center jointly hosted a policy briefing at the Hongqiao International Central Business District to promote high-quality Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation.

The briefing aimed to introduce emerging industries and business opportunities within the BRI engagement and outline Shanghai's supportive measures for expanding BRI markets.

The event focused on enhancing international cooperation and building a more open economy, while also strengthening the strategic partnership between the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Additionally, it highlighted Hongqiao's growing role as an international business hub.

Key speakers emphasized the importance of financial institutions in supporting enterprises' international expansion and supply chain integration.

The briefing introduced the "Two Strategies and One Focus" policy, which targets strategic emerging industries, resource supply projects, and key BRI projects, aiming to offer competitive financing and insurance solutions for enterprises.

Local officials also presented support measures for businesses going global, and the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation Shanghai Branch released the first batch of key support projects for 2024, reaffirming Shanghai's commitment to international economic cooperation.
