Journey of Guizhou's chili source brand goes global

The English version of the book Chilies and Chances: Lao Gan Ma and Her Spicy Empire, which tells the legendary story of entrepreneur Tao Huabi from Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently published by Canada's Royal Collins Publishing Group for global distribution.

On June 16, 2023, at the Beijing International Book Fair, the rights to the English version of the book were granted to Royal Collins Publishing Group by Guizhou People's Publishing House.

Since its initial release in October 2022 by Guizhou People's Publishing House, the book has garnered widespread acclaim from domestic and international readers.

The book, authored by writer Wu Hua, consists of twelve chapters, delving deep into the audacious life of Guizhou-born entrepreneur Tao Huabi and the success story of the Lao Gan Ma company, which transformed from a street-side stall to a company with a turnover exceeding 20 billion yuan ($2.78 billion).

The English version of the book will be released around the world, including in regions such as North America, Europe, and Asia. The Royal Collins Publishing Group will further strengthen cooperation with Guizhou People's Publishing House to unearth more fascinating stories behind Guizhou's distinctive cultural resources.
