The second National Self-driving Camping Tourism Development Conference was held on Aug 6 in Alshaa League – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, administrative leaders from Ningxia, Hainan, Hubei and Jiangsu – as well as experts, academics and industry professionals.
To top it off, nearly 10,000 self-driving camping and travel enthusiasts gathered to witness the cultural and tourism extravaganza.
At the launch ceremony, Liu Hanqi, supervisor of the China Tourism Car and Boat Association, awarded Alshaa with a plaque for being a pilot city for the "Self-driving Tour Destination Classification" industry standard.
At the event, other bodies also released the "China Self-driving, RV and Camping Tourism Development Report (2023-24)" and three premium self-driving routes.
The event featured keynote speeches by Dai Xuefeng, a researcher from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Li Shaoying, founder of YouSuo.
During the conference a self-driving camping lifestyle festival was staged, showcasing a variety of cultural and tourism products under the Alshaa Gifts series, including Hongqi cars, RVs and a raft of self-driving camping scenarios.
Those present reportedly enjoyed a great experience as well as entertaining performances.
