A cargo ship loaded with 218 various engineering vehicles, over 5,000 metric tons of bulk cement, 1,369 pieces of steel structures, and other general cargo set sail from Yantai Port Group Penglai Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), heading for Guyana on July 31. This marks the official launch of Shandong's first general cargo route to the Caribbean.

As one of the 15 pivotal ports in the Belt and Road Initiative, Yantai Port actively integrates into the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, continuously enhancing the resilience of the entire industrial and supply chain. The port's maritime freight and trade exchanges with participating countries and regions have become increasingly close. In addition, marketing personnel at Penglai Port have deeply explored overseas cargo sources, meticulously formulated full-chain connection plans, and provided customers with tailor-made, one-stop total logistics services to assist in successfully securing Shandong's first Caribbean general cargo route in Yantai.

During the ship's operations at the port, Penglai Port closely collaborated with Yantai port authorities to ensure that the vessel berthed immediately upon arrival and that the cargo cleared customs quickly. The efficient, swift, high-quality, and cost-effective loading has received unanimous praise from both the cargo owners and the ship's crew.
