Dongsheng district, in Ordos city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region ranked 85th on the list of China's top 100 districts for urban economic development, according to a research report recently released by CCID Consulting. It is the region's only entry on the list.

The report adheres to a "dual threshold" principle, requiring a regional GDP exceeding 80 billion yuan ($10.96 billion) and general public budget revenue surpassing 2 billion yuan for evaluation across five key dimensions: economic strength, growth momentum, endogenous support, regional governance level, and inclusive development.

In recent years, Dongsheng has thrived by accelerating the development of emerging industries, upgrading traditional sectors, and enhancing the quality of modern service industries.

The district has strategically attracted and nurtured a cluster of high-quality projects with significant investment, promising strong development prospects and catalytic effects.

In 2023, Dongsheng achieved a regional GDP of 103.05 billion yuan, an 11-percent year-on-year growth and the highest in the city. Additionally, its general public budget revenue reached 7.95 billion yuan, a 3.8 percent increase.
