Overview of supply chain in Xiamen FTZ

Attracted by supply chain innovations and applications in the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone – located in Xiamen, in East China's Fujian province – a lot of businesses have settled in the area, now home to more than 4,000 supply chain or related enterprises.

The size of the local commodities and derivatives sector alone now tops 1.5 trillion yuan ($217.8 billion), while a num­ber of industry leaders in the supply chain for commodities – including those in metals, coal, textiles, rubber and grain – have been nurtured.

b. Supply chain finance innovations

• Introducing block chain technology and launching seven block chain applications sce­narios – including domestic and foreign ex­change transfer payments for cargo freight and enterprise supply chain financing, as well as enterprise supply chain financing and bank loan usage tracking – to improve the quality and efficiency of enterprise supply chain financial services;

• Establishing the GLP-C&D Fund and other sup­ply chain industry funds with the support of the FTZ Fund Town.

c. Digital empowerment

• Completing the construction of COSCO Port, China's first 5G full-scene smart port, as part of efforts to build comprehensive smart ports;

• Supporting enterprises in building a compre­hensive service platform for supply chain digitization, as well as driving forwards the digital transformation of 15 key industry platforms;

• Promoting the market-oriented operation of the Supply Chain Sci-Tech Innovation Center, while building the 5G+ Digital Supply Chain In­novation Lab and other platforms.
