Hungarian cultural exhibition kicks off in Guizhou

From July 30 to Oct 15, the "Danube Pearl – Hungarian Cultural Exhibition" is being displayed for free in hall 4 of the Guizhou Provincial Museum in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary, and both countries have made significant progress in various fields.

To strengthen cultural exchanges, museums have been teaching visitors about the history and culture of both civilizations, becoming an efficient way to bridge the cultural gap between the two.

The exhibition is the first to bring together coins, copperplate prints, and stamps. With 260 exhibits consisting of cultural relics and artworks, visitors can gain a detailed understanding of the development of Hungarian currency and the cultural arts.

"Guizhou is one of the stops for Hungary's 'go global' exhibition this year, helping to strengthen friendly relations and cultural exchanges between the two countries," said Adam Daniel Breuer-Zehevi, director of the art and culture department of the Central Bank of Hungary's China market expansion department.

"The exhibition also features a commemorative coin marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary," he added.

The commemorative coin incorporates images of animals and plants characteristic of both countries, with bamboo symbolizing the all-weather friendship between the two countries, and the Chinese dragon and the Hungarian Turul bird symbolizing the harmony and cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, a set of commemorative coins consisting of 12 coins issued in 2017 is also on display to commemorate the strengthening of Sino-Hungarian relations.
